Vadim Dobrin is an internationally renowned Systema Instructor that until now limited his seminars and classes to the country of South Africa for over the last 10 years. It is often said that a teacher should be judged by the students he produces and if this is the case then anyone that has worked with any of Vadim’s Students can attest to the fact that they are some of the most competent Systema practitioners anywhere in the world.

About Vadim
Vadim has a long biography of accomplishments to keep in mind:
He has survived more real life encounters with knives than anyone I personally know about
His training has undoubtedly saved the lives of several of his students whom had to deal with real events of attempted violent crime that are unfortunately far more common in South Africa than in Europe
Has consistently produced some of the most effective and humble students of Systema in very short periods of time
He is involved in teaching members of Law Enforcement, Security and Close Protection
From his website: Our training is specifically designed to entrench neuromuscular memory and imprint psycho-physiology, with the basic survival preparation, practiced exclusively by the trainers, of the elite combat subdivisions of the Russian Spetsnaz units. Our instruction is also designed to re-educate bio-mechanical awareness and bio-energetic potential, which is critical for the neutralization of high intensity conflict in armed plural assailant engagements.
Whom should come
As long as you are over the age of 18 or accompanied by your parent or guardian if below this you can come along. You do not need to have prior knowledge of systema in order to attend, though of course if you do you will be more likely to absorb the training faster. As always in systema everyone trains at their level. Experienced practitioners will especially be able to gain a lot from Vadim’s training as it is some of the most effective in terms of real-life situational survival.

We are going to have the following sessions available:
Friday 30th April - 7.30pm to 9.30pm – Introduction to movement and multiple opponents
Saturday May 1st - 9.30am to 4.30pm – All day seminar with focus on knife work. Vadim is one of the most capable instructors in the world in general, but with respect to surviving knife work he is in a class of his own. Make the most of this opportunity to work with one of the world’s best
Sunday May 2nd - 9.30am to 4.30pm – All day seminar with focus on surviving real world encounters. South African society is unfortunately afflicted by some of the highest crime statistics anywhere in the world, recording in excess of 20,000 deaths due to violent crime for several years in a row. A figure that is in excess of some active war-zones. Vadim’s training has real-world survival of violent encounters as one of the main objectives. The type of training he provides in this regard can probably only be achieved by being enrolled in the military, so make the most of it, it’s not often you will get a chance to train with someone of his skill and ability as a teacher.
Bonus: Saturday evening – 7pm till late – Hawar’s leaving do and general Systema party with Vadim. Come and have a group Systema dinner at the Fox and Hound where we can all share stories informally, eat, drink and have fun. Drinks will be available for purchase at the bar but all food will be included in the price of the early bird special or else £10 if purchased seaparetely (meats, vegetables, and so on, those of you who came to the end of year party will know the kind of feast Uldis puts on. You certainly can’t get this for £10 anywhere in London!).
Costs
Training Cost:
Early Bird Special: £100 for all three days Thanks to the great response we had, we will be able to keep costs down to £100 right up until April 10th. We are grateful to all the people who signed up early to permit this. Thank you. Please hurry though as currently there are only about 20 places left before we have to decide on a larger venue, which might not be possible.
At the door: £120 for all three days.

Friday Only: £25

Equipment
Special training knives for this event are being planned. These will be of a more realistic shape and size and not the “sword” sized training knives often sold in most martial arts shops. We are currently seeing if we can incorporate the cost of these in the ticket price, or if not, in any event keep the price limited to something below £10. We will update you on this as the manufacturing process is ironed out.
Sleeping arrangements if you are coming from outside the UK
Please let us know well in advance by e-mailing us and we will try to help provide you with places to sleep with UK based Systema practitioners. Most times this might mean a living room floor but it would be cheaper than a hotel if you are not fussy and have a sleeping bag. Preference will be given to groups over individuals but we will try to use our UK network to help wherever we can. Obviously we cannot guarantee a place for everyone in this fashion but we will try our best.

The event might be filmed and if so by signing on you are accepting that you may be included in the videos for no compensation whatsoever. Similarly, your full name and current address and contact details will need to be supplied when you complete the disclaimer form required for normal health and safety regulations. LIMITED SPACES
Due to the availability of space at the venue, and so as to keep the seminar of a size that allows good work in a large room without overcrowding, we can guaranteed a place only for the first 40 people. Registering early to ensure your spot is therefore essential. Should we have more students than the venue can accommodate comfortably we will need to hire a much more expensive hall and this will require a relatively large number of entries to be paid for at the comparatively low prices we are offering for such a top quality seminar, so early registration is essential in order for us to be able to provide good logistics that will make for an enjoyable seminar.
